Youth Apprenticeship is gaining traction throughout the U.S. as a high-quality work-based learning strategy that reflects the spirit of Perkins V (Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act). Employers are increasingly hiring high school students and utilizing youth apprenticeship to build the skills they need. Youth Apprenticeship in IT and Cybersecurity in particular have more opportunities for youth than ever before. As a U. S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Intermediary, Appteon promotes quality high school work-based learning, including youth apprenticeship, for both the foundational skills that contribute to an individual’s future success, and for the proven pathway educators and employers can use to build skills employers need.

Imagine gathering in a big room to watch the Sacramento RiverCats game on Thursday evening! Food and Beverage, warm space inside with tables, chairs, food, and big screens. Plus outdoor seating for those who really focus on the game. Tickets would be purchased through a separate registration – Credit Card only, transferable to another attendee if something comes up, but no refunds.
Transportation to the venue (1.3 miles from the Hyatt) is up to each ticket holder. Carpool with those who drive to the conference, take an UBER/Lyft, scooter, walk or ride the bus. Details to follow on options after ticket purchase. Click here for more information.

November 14, 2022NAW LEARNING LAB: “UNDERSTANDING THE FINANCIALS OF APPRENTICESHIP” Sacramento

Join the Grow Apprenticeship California team from the Foundation for California Community Colleges during National Apprenticeship Week for a learning lab focused on understanding the financials of apprenticeship. This in-person event will take place on Monday, November 14, from 8:30am – 2:00pm at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, 500 J St, Sacramento, CA 95814.

We will be joined by our partners from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office and the Division of Apprenticeship Standards amongst others. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from our knowledgeable speakers regarding current and future funding opportunities, understanding the costs of an apprenticeship program, understanding RSI, and how SNAP E&T funds can benefit apprentices.

This learning lab is FREE and open to all community colleges, intermediaries, apprenticeship practitioners, stakeholders, employer partners, non-profit organizations, and workforce boards throughout California. This is a great opportunity for individuals wanting to learn more about financially operating and resources available when it comes to developing and sustaining an apprenticeship program.
