Whether you are an educator, administrator, researcher, policymaker, or industry professional, the UPCEA Annual Conference offers valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, share expertise, and contribute to the advancement of our units and our impactful work in support of lifelong learning.
The coming year will see continual change in our profession and on our campuses. From new federal education policy, to credential innovation and granularization, to the impact of Artificial Intelligence on our digital transformation, we all will have new stories and expertise to share with our community.
We welcome you to our mile high capital of Denver, Colorado, where in addition to the conference, we invite you to enjoy outdoor hiking in the Rocky Mountains or nearby Red Rocks Park, or visit some of our many museums such as our newly renovated Denver Art Museum.

The Meeting of the Minds 2024 conference, themed From Innovation to Implementation speaks to the workforce system’s ability to bring innovative ideas and strategic plans into reality and ultimately implementation at scale. This year’s conference will strive to emphasize the importance of partnerships and strategic relationships that lead to tangible outcomes. At this year’s conference, we aim to showcase innovative collaborations that combine resources, programs, goals, and purpose to drive positive change in the communities we serve.
Hosted and designed by the California Workforce Association (CWA), The Meeting of the Minds Monterey, CWA’s annual Workforce Leadership Conference will feature workshops focused on innovative and strategic collaborations, programs, principles, and partnerships that demonstrate the work being done to achieve success in their communities. Attendees can learn how these programs started, are implemented, and how they can be scaled to their areas or programs.
The conference will also feature a Board Member Track, specifically tailored for Workforce Development Board members. On this track, Local Workforce Board Members can expect topics to cover strategy, purpose, and what it takes to be rooted in the community.

Youth Apprenticeship is gaining traction throughout the U.S. as a high-quality work-based learning strategy that reflects the spirit of Perkins V (Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act). Employers are increasingly hiring high school students and utilizing youth apprenticeship to build the skills they need. Youth Apprenticeship in IT and Cybersecurity in particular have more opportunities for youth than ever before. As a U. S. Plus outdoor seating for those who really focus on the game. Tickets would be purchased through a separate registration – Credit Card only, transferable to another attendee if something comes up, but no refunds.

Join the Grow Apprenticeship California team from the Foundation for California Community Colleges during National Apprenticeship Week for a learning lab focused on understanding the financials of apprenticeship. This in-person event will take place on Monday, November 14, from 8:30am – 2:00pm at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, 500 J St, Sacramento, CA 95814.
We will be joined by our partners from the California Community College Chancellor’s Office and the Division of Apprenticeship Standards amongst others. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from our knowledgeable speakers regarding current and future funding opportunities, understanding the costs of an apprenticeship program, understanding RSI, and how SNAP E&T funds can benefit apprentices.
