We’re pleased to share Issue #11 of CVML Connect. As the academic year comes to a close, this June edition celebrates the dedication, collaboration, and accomplishments of our colleges, industry partners, faculty, staff, and students who continue to strengthen workforce development across the Central Valley Mother Lode region.
This issue includes important fiscal updates for Strong Workforce Program Rounds 8, 9, and 10, including expenditure progress, remaining balances, and reminders regarding the June 30, 2026 closeout deadline for SWP 8 and SWP 9. We also highlight new statewide resources, including the Adult Learner Toolkit developed through the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office and opportunities to engage with the statewide Apprenticeship Community through the Vision Resource Center.
Regional workforce development efforts remain a focus, with the release of the May 2026 Bi-Annual Workforce Strategy Report and new Center of Excellence publications examining adult education and subregional labor market trends. This issue also features highlights from around the region, including Burton School District’s CTE Pop Up event, and welcomes Kristen Rocha as Regional Apprenticeship Manager for the LAUNCH Apprenticeship Network, supporting apprenticeship expansion throughout the Central Valley.
The newsletter contains active links to reports, funding opportunities, workforce resources, upcoming events, and regional planning information, including details for the 2026 CVML Annual Planning Retreat.
