Program and Course Approval Handbook (PCAH)

For California community college curriculum committees, there is no better reference and guide than the Program and Course Approval Handbook 8th Edition (PCAH) to ensure compliance with regulations and law regarding curriculum. It is written and compiled by the California Community Colleges Curriculum Committee (5C), which includes representatives from the Academic Senate, CIOs, the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (CCCCO) and other constituent groups.  Every curriculum committee chair should have a copy of the PCAH or a handy link to it, and all curriculum committee members should be familiar with it. Key laws and regulatory sections governing curricular matters are included in the appendix for easy reference.
